Round 2 of the Chipotle Challenger series 2020 begins Friday 6/27 and it features some unexpected EDM names. The second edition of the Esports competition series will feature Dillon Francis, Illenium, Jauz, and Cray who will compete with top Esport gamers like Swagg, Aydan, and TimTheTatman along with amateur gamers.
The tournament will be for the Call of Duty: Warzone game with a hefty prize of $25,0000 plus a year’s worth of free Chipotle! The competition is open to eager gamers over the age of 17 and entry requires a duo pair of two. Along with our favorite EDM artists, entrants include Stranger Things star Finn Wolfhard and Offset who is 1/3 of Migos and the father of rapper Cardi B’s daughter. Even athletes like basketball star Sabrina Lonescu from Oregon, Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert, Heisman Trophy winner Baker Mayfield and Super Bowl MVP Von Miller are going to be showing off their Esports skills.
Qualifying matches will initially take place June 27th and June 28th for celebrities and professional gamers. Then July 11th and 12th will be open qualifying to all amateur gamers. The finale will be streamed on the Chipotle Twitch Channel on July 16th at 3 PM EST or 12 PM PDT. It will feature 20 invited teams and 20 qualifying teams. Chipotle will be matching the $25,000 prize to donate to the National Urban League, which is a civil rights organization founded in 1910 to fight for social justice, social equality, and economic equality.
